Dr Andrew Ryan M.B.,B.S., F.R.A.C.S. (Orth)
Andrew is a member of Brisbane Orthopaedic Specialist Service (B.O.S.S.).
He was educated in Brisbane, Queensland and completed his M.B.B.S at the University of Queensland in 1993. He completed Advanced Training in Orthopaedics and subsequently obtained his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (F.R.A.C.S.) in 2002.
Internationally, Andrew undertook a further 12 month fellowship in Hand and Upper Limb Surgery under the guidance of Professor Frank Burke and Mr Peter Lunn as a member of the Pulvertaft Centre at the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary, Derby, UK.
Whilst abroad, he gained further experience throughout Europe visiting Orthopaedic Centres specializing in Hand and Upper Limb Surgery in Switzerland, Sweden, France and Italy. In addition to managing all conditions of the hand, shoulder, elbow and wrist, including microsurgery, he continues to pursue an interest in arthroscopic/ minimally invasive surgery.
He is a member of the Hand Surgery Society and the Shoulder Surgery Society of Queensland in addition to being a member of the Australian Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Australian Medical Association and an affiliate member of the Australian Orthopaedic Association.
Presently, Andrew has private clinical practice at Brisbane Private Hospital and Holy Spirit Northside, with additional clinical privileges at the Wesley, Greenslopes, St Andrews and Mater Misericordiae Hospitals.
He is a Consultant VMO in Hand and Upper Limb Surgery at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital with clinical privileges at the Royal Children's Hospital.
